An interesting train of thought I had the other night: What is it about anthros that I like about them so much? From a purely aesthetic standpoint, what draws me to the furry fandom and anthros?
Really for me, it's how emotive anthros can be when it comes to non-verbal cues. For a lot of furs, it's all about the ears and tails, and I'm no different, but I particularly like them because they're powerful tools for subtly conveying emotion.
I love writing out and describing (because I don't draw :U) the ways the ears move and turn and point in different ways to convey everything from astute attention to abject terror. The way the tail serves as an emotional barometer and displays how secure one feels.
A lot of it comes from me watching my cat around the house and outside with a notebook in hand.
What do you like about the anthro 'look?'

Ah, I'm so ashamed at you all - making this acutally intelligent looking topic look completely nuts and stupid =|
So...
What strikes me in the anthro looks - is that they are still partly human, so you can easily feel like you're one of them. I did this especially a lot as a child. I'd like to cover my ugly skin with fur, and have a colourful pattern. I love vibrant colours, fur, the shapes of their ears and of course tail. I love claws and scary looking fangs. Animals are such beautiful creatures.
And especially felines have always been my favorite - their face, it's so perfect - its not flat like human and its not too long like a horse. It has such perfect shapes that it can look all cute, cool, scary and so on. (excluding the mutants tho....)

I perfectly agree neko, one thing I've always liked is the eyes too, they have so much color and vibrancy in animals <3

I perfectly agree neko, one thing I've always liked is the eyes too, they have so much color and vibrancy in animals <3 Especially cats that have heterochromia, eyes that are different colors. One of my aunt's actually has a Turkish Angora (We call her Boo because she's completely why except for a grey spot above her blue eye) that has one blue eye and one green eye. I think that is the source of my love for interesting eyes.
I have a cat of my own that I just kills hours watching mill about the house when I'm bored.
