I just like to say hi to everyone here. I am known as Fawkes Messerschmitt, an avid gamer who enjoys Fallout way to much. I found this comic when I was browsing through DA and stumbled upon Neko's profile. I really enjoy her style of art and can't wait for more! So that's me, the 19 year old Arizona Fallout fanatic.

I never really like the British designed aircraft for some reason. But I loved the German designed aircraft, especially the ME-262. And thank you Nuffield for the welcome.

We all know Hawker Hurricanes is where its at really In terms of ww2 aircraft you're all wrong, The best fighter was... By far... none other than the North American P-51D Mustang!!!!!!! Of course I guess I outa give credit where credit is due and admit that it might not have achieved that fame if it weren't for the English dropping that Rolls-Royce Merlin v-12 engine into that biotch. But still, it was originally an american plane all the same. Oh, and wilkommen Mr. Messerschmitt, its a pleasure to be in the company of another aviation nut on this forum, 'twas getting a bit lonely here mein friend.

(not really) Doesn't matter now, I'd say they probably cost about the same today. Just the same, it still out-performed the spitfire, and probably kicked more ass than it too.... well worth the extra cost if you ask me.

ME-262 beats all of the afore mentioned WW2 aircraft. I prefer many of the German designed warplanes, but the B-17 Flying Fortress is my favorite American plane of all time. The American who liked the German plane better.

The American who liked the German plane better. What about the Horton wing? That would have made such a difference if it had gone into mass production early on. Just the same, I know of a plane that is relatively obscure today, but, in my opinion, is way more unique than the ones mentioned before...: the Interstate Aircraft Co.'s TDR-1 assault drone. What makes it unique is the fact that it was literally the world's first legitimate TV-guided U.C.A.V./guided missile (most often was destroyed with target like a kamikaze plane, making it a guided missile technically.) It was used briefly in an active role in the Pacific during late 1944. had 50% success rate...unheard of for a previously untested weapon. The method of crashing the drones into their targets earned them the nickname: "American Kamikaze" It wasn't the best performing or highest quality plane from that era, but it was a pioneering aircraft that helped establish some of the ground rules for modern-day UAVs, R/C toys, and maybe even some aspects of the television broadcasting method. And for that reason, it is an awesome plane, even if it has long since sank into obscurity. The last known existing intact example is in the National Naval Aviation Museum. It has been my obsession for the past 2 or 3 years now.
